- All reinforcement bars or fabric reinforcement shall be stored under cover on timber over concrete or steel crib support suitably spaced and of sufficient height to keep the steel at least 1m above ground.
- Steel shall be protected from all aggressive elements, to the approval of the Engineer.
- The reinforcement steel shall be neatly separated in size and clearly marked with its diameter or size.
- Equipment for handling epoxy-coated bars shall have protected contact areas.
- Bundles of coated bars shall be lifted at multiple pick-up points to minimize bar-to-bar abrasion from sags in the bundles.
- Coated bars or bundles of coated bars shall not be dropped or dragged.
