REMOVAL OF FORM WORK? NEEDED TIME AFTER CONCRETE?

A Vision To Clear Solutions.

Forms shall be removed in such a manner as will not damage the concrete.  No forms shall be removed until the concrete has gained sufficient strength to support itself.  Centers and props may be removed when the member being supported has gained sufficient strength to carry itself, and the load to be supported on it, with a reasonable factor of safety.
The following table is a guide to the minimum periods which must elapse between the completion of the concreting operations and the removal of formwork.  Notwithstanding this table, no prop or formwork shall be removed without the approval of the Engineer and such approval shall not relieve the Contractor of his responsibilities for the safety of the structure.
-Vertical sides of beams, walls, upstands and columns                      18 hrs.
-Soffits of slabs and concealed beams with props left  Undisturbed
(removing and re fixing of props not permitted)                             5 days
-Soffits of drop beams, inverted beams and props left
Undisturbed below slabs and soffits of concealed beams                  14 days
–   Props of cantilever beams and slabs                                           28 days

The following points are carried out at site during making of structural frame:
1.     Bench marks and control points shall be fixed and maintained in proper manner on Site. This will be bench mark for the entire structural work.
2.     Surveyor carried  out the works in accordance with the approved drawings\
3.     After the excavation plain cement concrete was poured at site below the foundation with the 20cm offset form each side.
4. Then rebar work is done above the PCC as per the mentioned reinforcement details and shuttering work is done prior to pouring of concrete with proper cover for both bottom and sides.
5. Then inspection conducted with consultant Engineers Representative. He checked thoroughly the rebar installed from required diameter, required numbers, spacing, splicing, correct concrete cover. Checking of formwork installed which includes proper shuttering, enough strength to hold concrete, level, size, dimension & scaffolding.
